Possum Holler

It's springtime in Chapel Hill and one has a great many things better
to do than stay inside blogging, hence the post-Oscar hiatus here at
Possum Holler. Truth be told, I haven't had that much time to think
about something to write about in this space as this post-college,
work-a-day grind has left this adventure seeker (stumbler uponer?) sans
amusing anecdotes and chance mis-occurences.

All this is not to say that I have entirely abandoned the Mass Medium
over the past few months. On the local level (read: within my house),
I have launched the insanely popular Today's Link of Today. This
brief, pseudo-daily e-mail contains a link to the item of the day that

Now for those of you who feel like you are not getting your money's
worth at Possum Holler, and need more incite into the daily life of the
Possum, I have taken the time to compile a quick list of my own
personal mental notes, queries and ponderances. I hope this
constitutes as an amusing journal update.

- I have an intense desire to visit Havana.

- Does Jackie Manuel have a Jackie Manuel has a Posse t-shirt? If so,
does he ever wear it in public?

- If I had a posse, I would wear a shirt everyday that said so.

- I was flattered to have my accent commented upon today for the first
time in quite a while. I was concerned my speech was becoming
'city-fied.'

- I should really buy ham more.

- I'm tired of hearing about the Facebook from my students.

- I still think that thing about the drunk bear is the funniest thing
I've ever read.

- So, are the Yankees and Red Sox just going to play their entire
schedule this season against each other?

- The Red Sox have SO jumped the shark.

- Young dancers don't seem to understand the importance of the arms in
ballet.

- I'm not sure why, but whenever I read Robert Novak's column I always
read it in the voice of the actor Rip Torn.

- I'm ready for around-the-clock coverage of the papal conclave.

- Does anyone want to start a papal pool?

- I think some of the names of Spam emailers are kind of cool, for
example: Percy Espinoza, Genesis Chan, Penelope McAdams, Mervyn
Higginbotham.

- I'm naming my first-born Genesis Higginbotham Sellers...and maybe my
second-born, too.

That is pretty much all that I have thought about over the past week.
